6/15 Meet vs. O'Fallon Torpedoes

Good evening Sea Lions!

Our first league meet is this Monday 6/15 at our LSL CA Pool versus the O’Fallon Torpedoes.

Lots of information in this one, so please take a minute to comb through it this weekend 😊

Heat Sheet information will be published shortly (we’re a little early) – you will find it in the SwimTopia app. With the free app version, you can see your swimmer events. With the Pro version (for a small monthly fee) you can see the full heat sheets (all events, swimmers, heats/lanes). Here’s a link with some more information about the app: https://help.swimtopia.com/hc/en-us/articles/360048446852-SwimTopia-Mobile-App-Free-Feature-Details

Here are additional reminders and information regarding league meets:

  • Events that you requested when declaring your swimmer can (and often will) change. Coaches have a lot of factors to consider when building a meet of over 100 events for 200 swimmers, where each swimmer can only participate in a total of 4 events. Not everyone can swim the 25 or 50 Free event – we also need someone to swim the 50 Breaststroke and 100 Fly. The coaches work hard to balance the requests of each swimmer, the ability of each swimmer, and the overall strategy for the team in the meet. If your events change, please remind your swimmer that the coaches know they can do it, and that the team needs them to fill the spot.
  • League rules do not permit us to modify any entries after we have set the meet. Changes are only allowed if a swimmer has scratched (is not longer attending) and we need to substitute within relay teams.
  • If you have signed up and for any reason are no longer able to attend, please contact the team immediately! There is a link on our homepage "Help! I Can't Make the Meet" that you can fill out to contact the coaches and board members about the last minute change. Direct messages, emails, and Facebook posts may not reach all the right people and may cause us to miss the opportunity to substitute based on scratches.
  • Coaches and parent volunteers work very hard to make our summer swim season a great one. However, we are human, and sometimes we make a mistake. Please remember to be kind and gracious to everyone and know that we are all doing our best.

Summer swim is a fun way for all of us to enjoy time at the pool with our kids. Looking forward to a great season!

See you at the pool!
