Meet Results

Good evening Sea Lions!

Last night was a long one! With 332 total swimmers declared for the meet, that might be a record number that we’ve ever hosted. A big thank you to all our volunteers who worked hard to keep things moving as much as possible, and an even bigger thank you to the swimmers who stayed much later than normal to finish out the meet!

We appreciate your patience while we finalized results today – they were just released in SwimTopia, and are attached here. It took a little longer than normal, but we needed to have some clarification discussions between teams before we finished up.

Both teams League Reps and our Webmasters have been going over the results and DQs throughout the day today. There were some discussions last night at the pool regarding DQs, and we all wanted to make sure both teams were in sync with them. In doing so today, we found 2 DQ slips for 6 & under events that were entered into the results – and league rules specifically do not allow any DQ in that age group.

Once we corrected those two, the overall result of the meet was changed. At the end of the night, O’Fallon had the W by 7 points. Correcting the 2 DQs has us winning by 2 points. I’ve been doing this job a long time, and I’ve never had one that close!

We also discussed some improvements that we plan to make going forward regarding DQs and stroke judging to better help our volunteers and our swimmers in future meets. Look for some communication on changes coming soon.

Thanks everyone for your patience, and we’ll see you next week at Blanchette!

See you at the pool!

Kerry
